2012 Tweetsie Railroad Media Policy
We welcome and encourage visits to Tweetsie Railroad by members of the media, and will do everything possible to ensure you have an enjoyable Wild West adventure at North Carolina’s first theme park.
Please email or fax your request to Tweetsie Railroad (contact information provided below) at least three days prior to your scheduled visit. The request should be made on your company’s letterhead, contain your assignment and signature or be sent through your business email account. Your ticket(s) will be held at the ticket office located at the park entrance. Please bring your news media credential, either a press card or business card, as well as your photo ID when you claim your ticket(s).
If your company prefers you not accept complimentary tickets, we will issue a full admission ticket to any media personnel working on a story.
Please note that we typically fulfill media requests within a qualifying radius (within a 250-300 mile radius of the park), and outlying location requests on a case-by-case basis. Due to the tremendous number of requests, we must limit complimentary media tickets to the following categories:
Print Media– Publishers, Editors, Reporters, Writers and Photographers
Web Media– Bloggers (case-by-case basis), Web Editors, etc.
Broadcast Media– Station Managers, Producers, News Directors, Assignment Editors, Program Directors, Videographers and On-Air Personnel (Anchors, Hosts, etc.)
Freelance Writers– Must present written confirmation of assignment with application
Complimentary media admissions do not include separately ticketed special events, including our Day Out With Thomas™ event (June 1-10, 2012) and Tweetsie Railroad’s Ghost Train® Halloween Festival (Friday and Saturday nights, September 28 - October 27, 2012). Exceptions may be made if the event is part of the content of the media feature, based on ticket availability.
Camera crews, film crews and photographers must be escorted by a Tweetsie publicity representative at all times.
We’re also happy to provide two (2) complimentary “just for fun” tickets per season for qualifying media to visit Tweetsie from April 13 through October 28, 2012, pending availability and park schedule. Please note these tickets are not available for Day Out With Thomas™ and the Ghost Train® Halloween Festival.
We try our best to accommodate all requests, but final decisions are made at the discretion of Tweetsie Railroad. We appreciate your interest, and we look forward to your visit.
